I’ve said before how much fun it is playing in someone else’s sandbox (like The Dead Ring, my novel based on the hit TV show The Blacklist). But that’s even more fun when the sandbox belongs to a great friend like Jonathan Maberry, and when the sandbox in question is Maberry’s outrageously fun Joe Ledger series of thrillers. So when Jonathan called and asked if I wanted to take part in Unstoppable, an anthology of Joe Ledger stories written by some of his ‘friends in the industry’ – including Mira Grant, Aaron Rosenberg, David Farland, James A. Moore, James Ray Tuck Jr, Steve Alten, Javier Grillo-Marxuach, Jennifer Campbell-Hicks, Jeremy Robinson, Joe McKinney, Jon McGoran (that’s me!), Keith DeCandido, Larry Correia, Seanan McGuire, Scott Sigler, Weston Ochse, Bryan Thomas Schmidt, and Dana Fredsti, and co-edited by Bryan Thomas Schmidt, I thought, ‘What could be better?’
Well, the thing that could be better was that he wanted me to write a story that would not only include Joe Ledger, but would also include Doyle Carrick, my series character from Drift, Deadout, Down to Zero, and Dust Up.
The whole things was a blast. And now it’s coming out, and I can’t wait to read the other stories. Joe Ledger: Unstoppable is coming out October 31, 2017, but you can preorder it now from your favorite Indie bookseller, from Amazon or from Powells.
