Just finished reading Paolo Bacigalupi‘s The Water Knife, and feel compelled to tell anyone who will listen how much I liked this book. It has everything I love in a great read. It’s smart, inventive, compelling, realistic, and thought-provoking, with a tightly constructed and propulsive plot and great characters, all deftly wrought, and all in an immersive world that changes how you will look at this one. It also bundles many of the best elements of science fiction and mystery in the package of a great thriller. Can’t recommend it enough.
