Halloween Horror

Halloween is approaching, so I thought I’d take the opportunity to remind folks that along with mysteries, thrillers, and science fiction, I also sometimes write stories that could be described as horror. My short story “Appetite” is available as a free podcast on Erik Arneson’s Word Crimes blog (expertly read by NPR veteran Scott Detrow) and as a 99¢ short story. Arneson says, “APPETITE is a terrifying short story that feels all too real in this time of better living by chemicals. McGoran infuses the piece with a substantial bit of humor as well, making this a very entertaining read.”

My novella “After Effects” is available from Amazon’s StoryFront imprint, and I have a short story AND a novella in IDW’s hilariously ghoulish and excellent Zombies Vs. Robots anthology, No Man’s Land.

If you’re looking for something a little spooky to read this October, I hope you’ll check it out.
