Noir at the Bar returns to Philadelphia on Thursday October 29, with a series of short readings from some of the finest crime writers from the Philadelphia area and beyond. Originally started in Philadelphia in 2008, Noir at the Bar has become an international phenomenon, with events in cities including St. Louis, Austin, San Diego, Toronto, Vancouver, and Glasgow, and regular events in Los Angeles and New York. The event will start with an introduction from Noir at the Bar creator Peter Rozovsky, who writes an award-winning blog about international crime fiction at detectivesbeyondborders.blogspot.com. Then I’ll be reading along with such impressive talents as Bill Lashner, Duane Swierczynski, Dennis Tafoya, Merry Jones, Erik Arneson, Don Lafferty, Robb Cadigan, Wendy Tyson, Tom Joyce, and Alex Segura (Swierczynski, Tafoya, and I were the original featured authors at the first three Noir at the Bar events in 2008, so it will be a bit of a Noir at the Bar reunion).
Noir at the Bar will take place at Misconduct Tavern, 1511 Locust St., Philadelphia, PA 19102, from 7 to 9 p.m. It is free and open to the public. For more information, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
